This is a fine example. All matching serial number 5727, including butt plate and butt stock, both of which are numbered internally. Completely functional with a smooth action. Magazine spring and follower function just as they should and the front of the barrel swivels properly to allow loading. Lever retention screw holds lever in place when turned at the correct angle. Correct Henry 900 yard ladder rear sight and german silver front sight blade. Stock has the 'Henry Bump' just below rear sling swivel.

Barrel is smooth with good edges, a sharp complete barrel address and serial number. Traces of original finish can be seen in protected areas at sling attachment otherwise it is a nice plum brown color. Brass receiver is mostly smooth with some battering on bottom right side just forward of lever comensurate with ordinary use and only mentioned for accuracy.

Stock is sound, with numerous minor scratches and dings. Butt plate cleaning rod door opens to reveal a 4-piece steel cleaning rod. A fine Civil War Henry Rifle as purchased by many officers and enlisted men alike for Civil War use.
