Confederate Kerr Army Revolver Serial number 2161, with a very well struck “JS over anchor” marking. This marking is a Confederate acceptance or export mark seen on Confederate Enfields and Kerr revolvers. The Kerr Army revolver may have been the single most common model of any gun used in the South. Somewhere around 9000 of these revolvers are known tho have run the blockade.

Revolver is correctly marked on the lock “London Armoury.”. The frame is marked “Kerr’s Patent 2161”. This gun, overall, appears to have seen use, though most markings are fairly easy to read, as can be seen in photos and gun appears complete. The “JS Anchor” stamp is quite discernible, as can be seen in photos. Rarely will you see a better mark. Cylinder has one broken nipple. Piviot point of loading assembly has been re-located a feature noted on othe guns with early serial numbers such as this one.

Overall gun is smooth with good edges. Markings are all easily read. Metal surfaces are dull blue mixed with gun metal grey. Probably an old refinish. Mechanically, gun functions fine.
