Benjamin F. Joslyn Army Model Revolver. 44 caliber. 8 inch octagon barrel. Unusual side hammer revolver, approximately 3000 manufactured 1861-1862. 5 Shot round cylinder. Nickel finish added after the Civil War. 2 Piece checkered walnut grips. Matching serial number 1732 appears on frame, barrel, cylinder, and loading assembly. Cylinder pin and plunger are numbered 32.

80% nickel w/ scattered peeling & spots of freckling. Grips have worn finish with handling marks having chips & dents at butt. Nice checkering. 3 screws appear to have been replaced on frame. Action functions fine. Bore has dark appearance with light pitting retaining strong rifling.
