Civil War Model 1864 Joslyn Carbine, Serial number 5367 on breech black and barrel tang. 52 caliber. This is the second model made by Joslyn and is iron mounted.
Markings on breech block and lock are well defined with 'US' stamped on butt plate. Metal surfaces are smooth mottled grey. Stock has been sanded and no cartouche is visible. Strong bright bore and a tight, precise action. Saddle ring missing.
