'CSN' In The Pommel Confederate Naval Cutlass. Long believed to be a product of the Tredegar Arsenal in Richmond, VA. This fine example is complete with original scabbard and brass frog stud.
21 inch blade is bright and smooth with original tool marks visible. There is one edge nick that appears to be the result of a blade flaw, in other words it was made this way. Brass guard is damage free and has a deep rich patina. Scabbard is flaked and crazed and shrunk slightly so that the tip of blade barely protrudes with cutlass is fully seated in the scabbard. Scabbard has been waxed to give it body and it is quite sturdy.
