Faboulous, rare Confederate Augusta Revolver 100% original and authentic in every regard. Serial “U” appears internally on most parts including: barrel housing, frame (twice front facing barrel and back facing stocks), stocks (stamped 3 times, in each internal flat), loading arm, plunger and back strap. Although the gun was not further disassembled to look for assembly marks on trigger guard, hammer and trigger; all appear original and untouched.

Albaugh lists assembly or serial “U” in his book on Confederate Handguns. This revolver conforms to all features associated with this manufacturer. The features include walnut grips that are “pinched” near frame and taper out toward butt. The shape of these grips is seen nowhere else in Confederate or US martial revolvers. The fully octagonal 7 5/8” barrel has large latch which retains Colt style loading assembly.

The brass trigger guard is also distinctive internally in filed finish similar to Samuel Griswold; the trigger guard also exhibits unique oval shape at frame. Between Albaugh and Gary only about 10 guns are listed of both 12-stop and 6-stop. There are probably less than 10 specimens known of each variety of Augusta Machine Works Pistols. This is only the second Augusta Revolver that I have ever been able to offer. It is sure to be a gem in any serious Confederate collection.
