Rare and Fine Colt Baby Dragoon Percussion Revolver, serial number 10776 in 31 caliber. Very nice complete original and authentic all matching Colt Baby Dragoon made in 1849, with the longest and most desirable 6″ barrel. This gun conforms to other Baby Dragoons in markings and configuration.  Just bought from the estate of G. W. “Bill” Stewart of Sonora, Texas.

The barrel address on this baby was stamped twice at the Colt factory. I've compared the die details with other baby dragoons stamped with the New York address with dashes. There is a distinctive break in the first D of address, A longer serif on the A in address and the R and E in address are connected. These details were present in over five other baby dragoons that were stamped with the New York address with dashes.

Overall condition is very good to fine. All matching serial numbers including wedge. Markings are all crisp and discernible. Barrel retains about 10% bright blue finish in protected areas with balance in mottled gray/plum, hints of case color can be seen in frame and hammer, otherwise matching silver/gray. Cylinder is crisp showing virtually all of rolled Dragoon and Indian fight scene. Stops on cylinder are crisp. Cylinder was made with only one safety pin and it is intact. Brass backstrap and trigger guard retain about 70% original silver plate. Grips are sound and well fit with hand worn patina and about 70% original factory varnish.
