Really great content in this albumen photograph that appears to have been taken from an original tintype.
I believe this is a mounted general officer by virture of his uniform frock. He is carrying a deluxe grade officer's sword with an eagle head quillon. Most likely a Clauberg staff.
All aspects of the officers uniform and the horse equipments appear to be Civil War for sure.
Matte part of image is 10 x 8. The oval center is 7 1/2 x 5 1/2.
