Occupied North Carolina Steamboat Pass issued for passage aboard the USS Massasoit from Plymouth Island to Roanoke Island.
The USS Massasoit was side-wheel steam powered Sassacus-class gunboat built by Curtis & Tilden, in Boston Massachusetts and launched on March 8th, 1863. She joined the North Atlantic Blockading Squadron in October.
Pass measures 5 1/4 x 2 1/4 inches and is printed on ruled paper. Excellent condition.
