Fantastic Ames Staff With Presentation and 'JH' inspectors mark. Presentation to "Capt. E. Grant Co. C. 3d Regt. Mass. Vol. Sept. 9th 1862.".

The 3rd Mass. served in North Carolina. Grant is pictured holding this sword.

The sword is like new retaining most of its original finish and gilt on hilt and scabbard. 

32 inch blade retains full frost in etched panels with only mild patina spots. Fine example.
