Really Sharp Scarce Ames Pay Department Sword complete with original scabbard. Sword and scabbard are heavily gilt with minor losses to high spots only. Retains slivering on 'PD' letters on langet. Blade is bright, deeply etched with American motifs and foliate designs. 'NP Ames Cutler Springfield Mass' is etched near the ricaso. This is a high quality Ames sword with sharp detailed casting and etching.
