Classic Confederate Enlisted Man's Artillery Saber probably produced by Haiman in Georgia or Froelich in North Carolina. This is a relatively scarce pattern seen much less than the Cavalry swords by these same makers. They are a direct copy of the US Model 1840 Artillery EM saber, being made without a scabbard throat. The scabbard is fits neatly into a recessed in the cross guard cast for that purpose.

This is a fine example retaining it's correct original scabbard with most of the original brown lacquer paint intact.

The hilt is solid with a nice grip wrapped with tarred linen and iron wire.
