Confederate North Carolina Mendenhall Jones & Gardner Rifle with 1864 dated lock. This fine example is 100% original and authentic in every regard. Lock is marked 'M.J.&G. N.C.' forward of the hammer and 'C.S. 1864' on the heel. Barrel is totally unmarked. Brass furniture with exception of iron buttplate. Enfiled style hammer and lock escutcheons. Barrel bands with deeply struck 'U' on top. No repairs or restorations noted. Stock is excellent.
