Confederate R.N.O.W. Marked Confederate 7-Inch Brooke Shell used in the Confederate Naval service. It bears the Confederate Navy inspectors mark of Lt. Robert D. Minor, Commander of the Richmond naval ordnance works.
But there are even more great markings ‘BROOKE’ appears in all capital letters on the bottom of the copper sabot. Also a Capital letter ‘A’ That may be related to the gun it was meant for on the ship (aft?).
This is a rare medium size 7-inch Brooke Shell With fantastic markings and superb condition.
