Superb Great Looking Confederate 1864 Parrot Shell Ammunition Box made in Richmond, Virginia in 1864 and so stenciled on each end. Original paint throughout.

Non-original but period replacement top added for re-purposing, the reason why just about all of these survive.

This one was recovered at a local auction in Rockingham County, North Carolina over twenty years ago by a dear friend and associate. It is offered in just as found condition including period added top with blacksmith forged irons. Hinges you see in the pictures were found inside the box and probably were never mounted.

This is a wonderful Confederate item that I chased in the family for years. But in the end I had to line up just like everyone else in an estate sell to buy it for less money than I would have paid in a private purchase. Sie la Vie.

Sometimes you must read the picture until the end. The part that says 'Richmond 1864'.

This is one of those cool Confederate things that just don't really come out of the woodwork anymore. My only regret is that I can only sell it once... and it's already gone. Please contact me if you have a similar item to sell.
