Eagle Pommel Militia Infantry Officer's Sword and Scabbard Circa 1830-40.
Silvered hilt with eagle's head counter-guard and quillons, pointed langets with foliate and scroll decoration, silvered knuckle chain connecting to a "hairy" eagle's head pommel, checkered and fan carved bone grip; straight single-edge blade with false edge at the tip, single wide fuller, the upper portion of the blade with etched foliate, spread wing eagle over fifteen six-pointe stars, and panoply of arms; silvered brass scabbard with engraved foliate decoration.
