ROMANIAN CONTRACT VZ-24 MAUSER BOLT ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 8x57 (8mm Mauser). S# XR16152. Barrel 23 1/4" with Century import marking. Standard VZ-24 sights with Czech protective front sight ears. Matching numbers on receiver & stock. Bolt is numbered "XR17060" which is same prefix as receiver but mismatched.
World War II era Romanian VZ-24 rifle with ground receiver crest. Blued finish. Walnut stock with bottom mounted & left side sling provisions. Left side of butt has red paint "38" rack number. Cleaning rod present.
CONDITION: stock set has arsenal rework finish with a few gouges, scattered dings, handling marks & scratches. Metal is mostly a silvery-gray color with scattered traces of arsenal blue, handling wear, edge wear & oxidation. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Bore shows scattered dried grease with some pitting but evident rifling. Ships to FFL or FFL-curio.
