Super Confederate Cook Rifle Complete and Original as produced in Athens Georgia, serial number 6511. One of not so many survivors. These rifles have always been desireable and sought after by Confederate Arms collectors. This rifle features a Confederate First National flag on the rear of the lock plate with serial number and 'Cook & Brother Athens GA 1864' stamped forward of the hammer. 33 inch barrel still has visible 'proved' and 'Athens GA 1864 6511' markings. The barrel has mild corrosion around the bolster that is normaly seen, but on the last half of the barrel a distinctive twist pattern is plainly visible.
Stock is fine with just some minor professional repair barely visible in the breech plug area. All hardware appears original with the exception of the front swivel ring only, and a couple of screws.
Really a fine text book example that would be very difficult to upgrade.
