Super Deluxe Silver Grip Horstmann Foot Officer's Sword Presented to WIA. Dengler served in the 96th Pennsylvania. He was wounded at the Battle of Gaines Mill 6/27/62 and was later discharged for due to his wounds.

I'm not sure if Dengler continued service in the Office of the Provost Marshal who presented him this sword in November 1863.

The sword is in excellent condition and is a high grade presentation model. Fully engraved scabbard mounts. Silver grip with deluxe triple strand wire. The pommel and hilt have extra embellishments cast thereon. The 32 inch blade is near mint with frosty etching by Horstmann. It bears the knights head trademark of Solingen maker Kirschbaum.
