Cal. .44. S# 27376. Standard configuration of the 3rd most popular government contracted cavalry sidearm, 8" barrel, blue & case color finished, frame stamped on either side: "STARR ARMS CO. NEW YORK" & "STARR'S PATENT JAN. 15, 1856". Serial numbers start at 23000 continuing the numbers from earlier double action revolver. This revolver was made in early 1863 and part of 25,000 US government contract. CONDITION: good to very good overall, original, matching, & complete, mottled refinished gray/blue metal, muzzle wear, grip has heavy edge wear and chipped, discernible outlines of inspection cartouches on both sides. Mechanics are good but the mainspring seems weak, good rifled bore
